About Us

The  Homestead Company is a family owned business since 2005.  It was created by Melanie Kight, formerly known as Melanie Nader, as a way to provide quality products she used for her own children.  Growing from a grass roots foundation, it has moved across the US from California to Virginia where it has resided since 2007.  The inspiration for each product was found as needs for her own skin care needs arose.  Originally Homestead had an extensive line for babies and other body products for adults as well.  To simplify and maintain a product line witch hazel has been the overall most popular product.  Although the butters are requested frequently the need to maintain a family owned business required the simplification.  Over the years there have been changes and growth in which Melanie has obtained a PharmD in order to maintain the ability to assess and grow in expertise.  We are proud to continue to serve our customers the best, quality products.  If you are interested in adding Homestead products to your store or website please contact us via the form.  We offer direct to customer sales and will soon be expanding to other venues.  Thank you for visiting our site, please check back often to see Dr. Melanie's blog updates that will include information to better improve your health and overall being.
